The Bear Spot Foundation for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy ("the Foundation") was established in 2004 to provide therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and their families. Jane Karol, Psy.D., is the Foundations’ executive and program director. The Foundation is based at her Bear Spot Farm, located in Concord, MA. Equine assisted psychotherapy harnesses the horse’s ability to be both loving friend and patient teacher. Put more simply, equine assisted psychotherapy is traditional psychotherapy in an untraditional setting. As a child and adolescent psychotherapist, Jane incorporates riding and horse care into her treatment programs. She leverages her unique experience as an elite-level competitor and instructor and as a psychologist to create a safe, structured environment for her clients. Over time, some of her clients have progressed more quickly in their treatment once introduced to equine assisted psychotherapy. The Bear Spot Foundation is a 501(c)3
charitable organization. Your generosity helps to provide
programs and services. To make an online donation, please
