Jane is a U.S. Dressage Federation (USDF) bronze, silver and gold medalist. She has trained ten horses to Grand Prix and works with many of the top clinicians in the world. She currently works with Juan Matute Sr and is developing two talented young horses towards the GP.  In addition, Jane has trained several up and coming professionals to the GP, and brought numerous Adult Amateurs and Young Riders up through the levels.  A major highlight is when Jane and Sunshine Tour were the national reserve champions for 6 Year Olds in 2013 at Lamplight Festival of Champions, and went on to be the Developing GP national champions three years later.  


Jane opened Bear Spot Farm in Concord, MA in 1994. Home to 26 horses, the farm provides state-of-the-art care and structured dressage training programs for horse and rider. Jane Karol is a doctoral level psychotherapist, and works with children and adults in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy.  



Jane is assisted in her work by Bear Spot's five adopted dogs Radley, Roma, Mikey, Mouse and Landry. They follow Bear and Spot, the farm's namesakes.

Nibbit came to Bear Spot in 2003 as a young horse and made his first GP start in 2007. He and Jane had top finishes from FL to VT until 2012 when Hope and Nibbit started together in the junior tests.
